Scientific Advisory Board

A Scientific Advisory Board has been established to support the creation of a future- and internationally oriented research profile for Med Uni Graz. This board supports and assists the rectorate and university researchers in the constant development and sharpening of our university's vision for the future of research.

Ulrike Beisiegel

Former Member

Ulrike Beisiegel was President of the Georg-August-Universitt Göttingen from 2011 to 2019. The biochemist was the first woman to head the university, which was founded in 1737.

Birgitta Henriques-Normark

Former member

Birgitta Henriques-Normark is a Professor in medical microbial pathogenesis at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) of as well as a Medical Doctor (MD) with speciality in clinical bacteriology. She was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board from July 2021 to June 2022. As of July 1, 2022, she was elected as the new President of the and therefore resigned from the Scientific Advisory Board of Med Uni Graz.

Harald C. Ott

Former member

Harald C. Ott is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School. Since 2014 he has been a thoracic surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and director of the Center for Organ Engineering.
